Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use Snake Arena (the "App"), developed by NWTsoft. For any questions, contact us at [email protected].
In short. You can play without an account. Signing in with Google or Apple is entirely optional — it exists only so your nickname and score survive if you change or reset your phone. The game shows ads through Google AdMob: short ads between games, and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch to continue a run. There are no banners over the board and no ads during a game. We never sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Anonymous play (default)
When you first open the app, Firebase Authentication assigns your device a random anonymous identifier (UID). It is not connected to your name, email, or any real-world identity.
1.2 Information you provide
Nickname: a display name you choose, shown publicly on the leaderboards. Please do not use your real name or other personal details. Nicknames pass through a profanity filter, but we cannot guarantee every inappropriate name is caught.
1.3 If you choose to sign in (optional)
If you sign in with Google or Apple, Firebase Authentication receives your email address, your display name where the provider supplies one, and a provider account identifier. This is used solely to recognise you as the same player across devices and reinstalls. Your email address is never shown on leaderboards and is never shared with other players. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we only ever receive the relay address Apple generates. You can play the entire game without ever signing in.
1.4 Gameplay data
Country: derived from your device's language and region
settings, used for the country leaderboard. We do not use GPS or precise
location.
Scores: your score, the time it was submitted, and the
league week it belongs to. Scores are written through a server function
that performs plausibility checks to limit cheating.
1.5 Diagnostics
Firebase provides us with basic stability and performance data, associated with the anonymous identifier or device rather than with you personally.
1.6 Advertising
The game shows ads through Google AdMob: short interstitial ads between games, and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch when a run ends in order to continue playing. There are no banners over the board and no ads during a game.
To serve, measure and protect those ads from fraud, AdMob may collect your advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), your interactions with ads, and an approximate location (city or region level) derived from your IP address. The app itself never asks for location permission; the country shown on leaderboards is read from your device's language and region settings, not from GPS.
Your choices. In the European Union and the United Kingdom a consent screen appears the first time you open the game, and you can change your choice later under Settings › Ads › Ad preferences. On iOS you are also asked for tracking permission. If you decline, the game works exactly the same — the ads simply are not personalised. You can also reset your advertising identifier or turn off personalisation entirely in your device settings.
2. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not collect your precise (GPS) location, contacts, photos, or microphone data. We do not put banners over the playing area and we never interrupt a game in progress with an ad. There are no in-app purchases.
3. How We Use the Information
To run the global, country and weekly leaderboards; to detect implausible or cheated scores; to keep your nickname and progress attached to you if you sign in; and to keep the app stable.
4. Sharing
With the service providers required to operate the game: Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, diagnostics) and, only if you choose to sign in with them, Google or Apple as the identity provider. Also with Google AdMob to serve ads: the advertising identifier, ad interaction and approximate location described in 1.6 are shared with AdMob and its advertising partners. Game data is stored in Google Cloud data centres in the European Union. Providers may process data under their own policies: Google Privacy Policy, Firebase, Google Advertising Technologies, Apple Privacy Policy.
5. Retention and Deletion
Leaderboard entries are kept while the game operates so that rankings remain meaningful. To request deletion, follow the steps on the Delete Account page.
6. Children's Privacy
Snake Arena is not directed at children below the age at which, under local law, they can consent to data processing without parental permission, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such children beyond the anonymous data described above.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the game changes. Material changes will be announced by updating the date at the top of this page.
